Owen Gray
Partner
Novogradac & Company LLP

Owen Gray is a partner in the San Francisco office of Novogradac & Company LLP. Mr. Gray has worked extensively in all areas of real estate, with an emphasis in the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) and the new markets tax credit (NMTC) industries. In addition, he has thorough knowledge of the historic rehabilitation credit (HTC) and tax-exempt bond financed transactions. Mr. Gray is a frequent speaker at industry-sponsored conferences and workshops, serves as chairman of Novogradac & Company’s annual NMTC conference held in San Diego, and is the technical editor for the firm’s New Markets Tax Credit Handbook as well as for the NMTC content in the monthly Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits. He serves on the board of directors of the Historic Tax Credit Coalition. Mr. Gray earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Golden Gate University after serving in the U.S. Navy. He is a member of the Novogradac & Company LLP executive committee and is licensed in California as a certified public accountant.

Ryan Brunton

As a member of Husch Blackwell’s Financial Services team, Ryan Brunton represents lenders, investors and developers in a wide variety of financing and real estate transactions. Mr. Brunton advises clients on the structuring and compliance components of traditional and tax-advantaged financing transactions, as well as legal and business issues arising during the course of negotiations and closing. He has extensive experience in asset-based, real estate-secured and mezzanine financing transactions, and advises national consumer and commercial lenders with respect to loan documentation and compliance issues.
In addition, Mr. Brunton regularly represents clients in transactions using state and federal new markets tax credits (NMTCs) and historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTCs). He also counsels clients with respect to acquisitions, acquisition financing, construction financing, economic development incentive programs and commercial leasing transactions. Mr. Brunton also has experience as a speaker and author on finance and tax credit law matters.

Darryl Jacobs has more than 20 years’ experience in tax and corporate law. His practice focuses on international, state and federal tax matters, with a primary concentration on tax credit financing transactions. Mr. Jacobs regularly counsels developers, investors, syndicators and lenders on new markets tax credits (NMTCs), historic tax credits (HTCs), low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) and preservation easements. Additionally, Mr. Jacobs is featured frequently as a speaker at local and national tax conferences. His corporate experience includes mergers and acquisitions, complex corporate transactions and private placements. Mr. Jacobs is also adept in the structuring of joint ventures, limited liability companies and partnerships. Mr. Jacobs was formerly a partner at Sachnoff & Weaver and Levenfeld Pearlstein LLC. Mr. Jacobs earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and his juris doctor from Harvard Law School.

Scott Lindquist is a partner in the Chicago office of Dentons U.S. LLP. He has more than 30 years’ experience in real estate finance, development and investment, including partnership and LLC investment structuring and tax-advantaged investments. A substantial portion of his practice is devoted to representation of a wide variety of clients in the new markets tax credit (NMTC) area, participating in hundreds of transactions involving more than $2 billion of investment. He has been a speaker at more than 40 NMTC conferences during the last 11 years, and he has also authored and co-authored numerous articles on NMTC-related issues.
